Pete started his long career in 1967 as a mobile DJ in Halifax and surrounding districts.
He progressed to clubs around West Yorkshire where he learned to “mix”. This was not his style at all! He classes his style as “personality jock”.

In 1989 he bought one of the first Karaoke systems in the UK and formed Karaoke NW covering the North of the UK. Yes, folks, it’s all MY fault!!!

1n 1990 he took it to Corfu and turned a quiet wine bar into the first Karaoke bar in Corfu. In between stints abroad (Corfu, Tenerife) he worked on various hospital radio
stations in Calderdale and Devon.

In 2012 he started his own station (Radio Heatwave) which was a huge success and continued until 2020.

He now presents 3 shows on XLR Radio; Wednesdays and Fridays from 16:00 to 18:00 and Saturday mornings 10:00 to 12:00. His show includes such features as “3 of the best”, “The Loooong Song”, “The Birthday Slot”, “Something from the cheese board” as well as slightly off the main stream tracks from the 60s to the present day. He welcomes, nay, insists on, requests!

When not at his decks, he loves to potter in the garden and muck around with the sound and lights for the local AmDram society.
