Andy Plimmer (Meat Loud) has been involved with music since he was a young whippersnapper.
As an 11 year old he started classical singing and also playing the Trumpet – not at the same time as that is too difficult.
As a classically trained singer he sang for HM Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Phillip, he sang at the Royal Festival Hall, Sang with CBSO in various concerts that involved some famous people of the time.
As he progressed through his teenage years he developed an interest in other kinds of music, particularly rock and was privileged to see some of the best live bands of the 70s and 80s including Queen, Thin Lizzy, AC DC, Nazareth, Judas Priest and many more.
He started composing songs and creating bands within the Rock/ Metal Genre and developed his love for live music and also for the theatre, appearing in many stage shows including musicals. It kept him busy and still does today.
The “Meat Loud” tag comes from his Meat Loaf Tribute Show – called “Meat Loud” – and the fact that he wears very “LOUD” shirts. You might say that the shirts are especially suitable for radio.
He started venturing into Radio approximately 4 years ago with stints on various community FM radio stations. His musical taste varies from classical through to Rock including 70s 80s in particular but everything is possible. There’s some interesting stuff out there.
“I’m looking forward to getting to know you and I hope to have the pleasure of your company and exploring every corner of the musical spectrum together”
